If you listened to Episode 124: Hope Grows in a Dump, you know we kicked off the Garbage Pail Kids nostalgia dive with a little something indulgent in our glasses: a chocolate martini. It looked like adult chocolate milk, and it hit just right.
Whether you’re reminiscing about trading gross-out stickers or just want a grown-up dessert in a glass, this drink is creamy, boozy, and ridiculously good.
###
Featured Cocktail: 🍫 Chocolate Martini
Ingredients:
-
2 oz vodka (vanilla vodka is extra nice if you’ve got it)
-
1 oz crème de cacao (use dark for a richer chocolate flavor)
-
1 oz Irish cream liqueur (optional—but it adds a lovely creamy texture)
-
Ice
-
Chocolate syrup (for garnish)
-
Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional garnish, but why not?)
Instructions:
-
Chill your glass. Pop your martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water while you mix.
-
Build your drink. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, crème de cacao, and Irish cream (if you’re using it). Add a handful of ice.
-
Shake it like you mean it. Give it a vigorous shake for about 15 seconds until everything’s icy cold and beautifully blended.
-
Garnish the glass. Drizzle chocolate syrup inside the chilled martini glass. Swirls, zig-zags, whatever your inner artist is feeling.
-
Strain and serve. Dump the ice from the glass (if you used the ice-water method), then strain the drink into your glass.
-
Fancy it up. Top with chocolate shavings, a dusting of cocoa powder, or go full Garbage Pail Glam with a chocolate truffle on a skewer.

Sip, relax, and remember: Life may be messy, but a good drink makes it a little sweeter (and maybe a little stickier if you’re holding trading cards while sipping).
Until next time—cheers, friends. 🍸
